Is my dog ever put into a cage?

Not unless you request it as part of your dog’s routine. Your dog will enjoy all 12,000 square feet of luxury here at The Wags Club. During the day, your dog will enjoy our outdoor area, with plenty of grass and pools for wading. At night, your dog will rest in complete comfort in one of our spacious guest quarters. The only other time we may have to quarantine a dog is if he/she is reported having a contagious illness, which may spread to the other pups if not properly contained.

What vaccinations do you require for my dog to stay here?

Must be FULLY vaccinated for Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, Leptospirosis, Canine Influenza, and also Bordatella every 6 months. Bring your vaccination paperwork at the time of your dog’s evaluation, or you can fax the paperwork ahead of time at (310) 943-3133. Expired paperwork will not be accepted and may cause rescheduling of evaluation.

Can I check in on my dog?

Yes. Feel free to call during our regular business hours. We also take daily photos of all dogs that stay at The Wags Club. Visit our Members’ Gallery on our website to view our latest photos and see your dog having a ball.

How late/early can I pick up my dog?

Check out for a boarded dog is at 11am. If necessary, you can arrange for a late check-out at a nominal fee. Please note that overnight staff is instructed not to release any dogs after 10:30pm on weekdays and after 7pm on weekends. Additionally, we recommend an exit bath for any dog staying 4 days or longer. Dogs picked up past check-out without previous arrangements are subject to additional fees of $15 per half day and $30 per full day. Payment for your dog’s stay is due upon check-out. We do not extend credit.

How late/early can I drop off my dog?

For daycare, check in is during normal business hours. For boarding, check in begins at 2pm although you may drop off earlier at an additional daycare charge. Please have your dog on a leash when you arrive. Upon arriving:

  • Inform us of all your dog’s medical conditions if any and specials needs if applicable.
  • Have all your dog’s belongings labeled, especially medication.
  • Indicate feeding requirements including times and amounts. We provide Natural Balance dog food for all our guests at a charge of $5 per meal. If your dog has a specific diet, feel free to bring your own dog food stored in an air-tight, labeled container.

Is there anything I should watch out for after picking up my dog from boarding?

Your dog should be as happy and healthy as he/she was when checked in. However, be on the lookout for signs of lethargy, a slight limp, or lack of appetite, which can occasionally occur during or after boarding. If symptoms persist longer than a few days, please keep us informed and be sure to call your vet for a checkup exam.

I need to board my dog but I am worried he may be sick. Can I still board him?

For the health and safety of your dog and all dogs, we do not board or permit any animal with contagious illnesses or diseases at the Wags Club.

How do you ensure my dog won’t get sick at your facility?

We disinfect our facilities thoroughly at least three times per day using special chemicals non-toxic to dogs. And while we take these extensive measures to maintain a germ-free environment for your pet, it is possible your pet may contract a virus, bacteria, or other form of illness. Your dog may be ill if excessively sneezing, coughing, wheezing, or exhibiting any of the following symptoms: runny nose, itchy eyes, diarrhea, vomiting, or lethargy. If your dog has any of these symptoms following a visit at the Wags Club, please call our office as soon as possible.

I boarded my dog and now he has Kennel Cough/Giardia/other form of communicable illness. What should I do?

If we notice any symptoms of these illnesses while your dog stays at the Wags Club, we’ll contact you immediately and arrange for a vet exam. If the symptoms occur after the visit, please contact us immediately and we can arrange for a vet exam.

My dog has fleas/ticks/etc. Can I still board him?

All dogs staying at The Wags Club are required to be under a strict flea and tick preventive program. If your dog is found to have fleas, ticks, or any insects, your dog may be bathed at your expense with a special flea/tick shampoo.

I’m worried about my dog getting picked on by other dogs. What do you do to prevent fights?

Before any dog is approved to stay at The Wags Club, we conduct a temperament test to rule out signs of aggression and anxiety. Your dog will share company with other well-behaved, sociable dogs, minimizing the possibility of a fight.  Dog Valets also closely monitor play to ensure a safe experience for all.  In the remote possibility of a fight, we’ll transport any injured pets to Brent Air Animal Hospital and immediately notify owners.

My dog failed your temperament test. Why?

There are a number of reasons a dog could fail our temperament test. The dog could be aggressive by nature or be aggressive around new people. On the reverse side of the coin, your dog may exhibit signs of extreme anxiety, which can be problematic around other dogs in a social environment. In either case, we can recommend behavioral trainers for you and you’re more than welcome to have your dog take our test again after a few training sessions.

Does my dog have to be spayed/neutered to stay at the Wags Club?

Yes. All dogs aged 6 months or older are required to be spayed or neutered, for the safety of all our dogs, regardless of veterinary recommendations. Dogs under 16 weeks of age are not permitted to stay at The Wags Club.

My dog meets all your requirements. How do I arrange a visit?
